According to the San Jose Police Department, the Mazda MPV was headed south on the interstate parkway when it hit the curb, slid on its side and hit a tree in the median, finally coming to rest on its roof on the northbound side of the road. Ding died at the scene; the driver and a second passenger fled before emergency personnel arrived. RIP.
