Ding, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was ejected. According to the San Jose Police Department, the Mazda MPV was headed south on the interstate parkway when it hit the curb, slid on its side and hit a tree in the median, finally coming to rest on its roof on the northbound side of the road. Ding died at the scene; the driver and a second passenger fled before emergency personnel arrived. RIP.
