Now,
I own a PS3 as well as an XBOX, however I know the PS3 is practically disabled. Sales have crawled for the past couple months, and even activision (producers of Guitar Hero and Medal of Honor series) is threatening to leave sony if they don't make the price right. http://www.tomsguide.com/us/Activision-Son...,news-4103.html |

Activision bluffing. PS3 is my crack. I'm glad I chose it over the 360. I haven't seen anything on the box that matches Killzone 2 graphically. I'm sitting up here on my HD-TV looking like "This can't be life."

A brand new PS3 can run anywhere from $300.00 to $500.00 dollars. They just aren't priced competitively. I can't blame activision. If the PS3 dropped in price then more people would buy it and more exclusive games would be developed for the system. |

NewEgg the cheapest non shit one is 170, and there's only a couple there. I don't even know how good that "non shit" one is, but I know that the PS3 is a way better player than it is. A good non shit blu ray player will run you 250-300, and for another $100-$150 you can have a blu ray player that can play games (such as MGS and infamous), connect to the internet / browse, and has an 80 gig hard drive. |

Maybe they aren't popular name brand blu-ray players, but I suspect blu-ray players will drop to 75 dollar mark next year. On top of that, blu-ray is quickly fading out because video codecs have become so efficient that it's more convenient to stream movies in 720p off internet services like hulu or netfix. Let's face it, yeah, the blu-ray experience is better, but it's not 100-200+ better. Sony needs to drop the price of the PS3 to stay competitive. |
