Do you feel as though you have the right to judge those of the same race? A few friends and I had this discussion earlier after another guy who considers himself a "redneck" called someone else "white trash." Initially, it got a lot of laughs, but as the discussion rolled on, a friend of mine openly said that he wasn't eager to help Katrina victims when he lived in Mississippi. The remark got a lot of mixed responses. Soon after that, another guy made a comment about how he loathes the term "hispanic."

i think a lot of people fall to stereotypes &joke about them. but i don't know that many people who are truly racist.
my asian friend literally doesn't like black people, just because some black people messed with him or w.e. i told him that you can't really generalize the whole race based on a couple people. also, a lot of people joke about racist stereotypes, &im completely fine with that. i don't really care about it. people shouldn't take those things seriously. but when people are truly racist. it pisses me off so much. their ignorance is pathetic. |
