I heard about this show in Nylon magazine so I checked it out online. Apart from those horrible southern accents, it looks pretty neat, it may be worth watching.
Anyone else interested? |

i should start watching this.. just saw something about it in hbo a little while ago and looks pretty interesting.. like woahhh I'm biased, but I'd say definitely check it out. lol yeah. I think the first two books were pretty interesting, then after that, I sort of just skimmed the rest by searching for "Eric" (torrented the e-books, lol) since he's, by far, the most interesting character. I just don't like the books because they're told in first person, so you only get Sookie's point of view. The shows definitely did a lot with fleshing out the rest of the characters. Plus, Sookie gets on my nerves. I LOVE Eric. Alan Ball said that his little fascination with Sookie (in the show) will continue, so I'm totally happy. I like Bill too and sort of like the whole Buffy/Angel/Spike thing, I think she's meant to be with him (like I believe Buffy is supposed to be with Angel). Funny, dark hair vs light hair vampire too. haha I'm always pulling Whedon out of my ass. Sookie, in the books, gets on my nerves. In the show, not so much. Sometimes I'm a little distracted by Anna Paquin's split (her teeth), but other than that, I'm fine with her portrayal (and she won an Emmy for the role, which is cool). I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Tara. Tara is very minor in the books, so I'm glad she's more visible in the series. Plus, that actress rocks. I love the speech she gives to the fat guy in the bar about her name. Also, sad sad sad about Lafayette. He dies early in the second novel and I'm 99% sure it's him in Andy's car at the series one end. He's one of my favorites. :( |
