i finally made one. I didn't add the content in the "you" section yet. (if you hate anime, don't comment and say you hate anime!) |

I think it's a good start, but maybe not for a portfolio. It looks more like a blog layout full of fandom, to be honest. It would look much better if the design blended into a tiled background, instead of just being slapped onto a colour that kind of doesn't match anything...
At places the text becomes a bit muddled and hard to read. Try editing the image to make that section noticeably lighter in colour as a background to the content spot. Just don't make it blunt edged, be very soft - you can even use brushes to add blending texture over the base. The one image on the top just sort of... cuts off. Try blending it in smoother so it looks like it's disappearing, not like you ran out of picture to use. Or you could try extending it (omg photoshop skillz) past the original image. Try putting the menu into the design itself and using either rollovers or at the very least an image map. It makes everything flow more smoothly. Also - it's YOUR portfolio! No need to have a download section (unless you want one in which case, disregard this last point). Again, I think it's a good start but you've got a ways to go before it looks like a portfolio. Don't give up, you'll get it! ![]() |
