So in my Psychology class I'm doing a project on Asian Stereotypes.
Where did these stereotypes begin? Like: 1 Where did the sterotype of Asians being horrible drivers come from? 2 Where did the whole "Asians are excellent in math" come from? 3 All asians are smart? etc etc etc. & how could I, if it were possible, go back into the past & change these? Help me out please? |

Asians are stereotyped as being better at math because they are better at math, according to the test scores. That's not to say that all Asians are better than all non-Asians, but most of them are better.
If you want to know why Asians are statistically better at math than non-Asians, both in their native Asian countries and in other countries, then read Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. He makes a very compelling argument about how cultural differences can affect everything about a child's success. |
