What's mind boggling is the double standard. Gays and pro-gays want everyone to accept homosexuality... if not we're considered homophobes and bigots.


People are going to have to accept that everyone is different. We don't NEED to like anything just because you do or you say we should. That's just silly.

That's great, except that homophobes aren't accepting that everyone is different, and they're encouraging political policies (such as Proposition 8 in California) that actively alienate a whole group of people.

No one says that you have to like homosexuality, just that you should accept the fact that people are different, that homosexuals aren't doing anything to personally harm you, and there's no need to treat them as second-class citizens that don't have the same rights as heterosexuals.

(I actually don't think that churches should be forced to marry gays, either, but that's because I have a strongly libertarian view on personal rights, and I feel that the government shouldn't be involved in marriage at all -- I feel that every union should be a civil union. But that's another discussion.)
