![]() Not so many changes. According to the website the main difference is boot speeds. When I tried the 32 bit version everything worked but unfortunately the 64 bit version wouldn't let me use any visual effects. You should try it out. Does anyone know if it would break the contract of a computer to put linux on it? Also I noticed it had something new called janitor?! I mean ya it's useful but I never saw ubuntu trying to do that. ![]() |

I'm using 9.04 now, and I must admit it's looking up. It flies on this computer, which on XP can't even perform basic tasks, like opening cmd. Although this computer is older than the Ubuntu distribution, the newest version still flies on it.
Too bad this old ATI Rage can't support the desktop effects. I'm going to swap this piece of shit with an GeForce 6200, and adding some RAM to this pitiful 512 Mb. I can't imagine it being too helpful with this 1.4 GHz processor, but it will still work better. |
