I just watched Youtube videos about the Columbine school shooting. I had never heard about it until now... it was on April 20, 1999... I was in kindergarten at the time.

It had descriptions of the killers.. and they reminded me of some people I knew at my school..

If there was a school shooting at my school.. I can imagine it would be this kid (won't say his name..) that knows a lot of information that no one cares about; he is very annoying and a know-it-all, but if you're good at reading people, you will realize that that is the only way that he knows how to try to be friends with people is to ramble on about the stuff he knows; since most people can not read others very well (especially at this age) he has basically 0 friends? :/ wow that sounds tragic. He is horribly picked on--non-stop. Daily he is bombarded with insults and pushes and shoves. I'm shocked that he can take it all; I definitely get the feeling that all the negative energy is building up in him.

I can't imagine anyone else at my school causing a school shooting.. he was the only one that stood out.

Luckily, everyone is very friendly to each other at my school. There is hardly ever any bullying, but since we do virtually NOTHING to get rid of bullying, we have some. We have clear and defined rules, but they are rarely enforced, unless it has something to do with the dress code. That seems to be the most important part.. blink.gif .

There has never been a school shooting at my high school (that I know of) and the school has been here for longer than I can remember. It's basically the only public high school in my entire city.. so I can imagine it's been here as long as the city has.

If there was to be a school shooting at your school, do you think you have a good idea of who would be the one shooting? If so, do you plan on doing anything to prevent it?

The one thing we should gain from these types of scenarios is... respect. Respect others. Or simply, mind your business. Believe it or not, I'm one of those people who blamed all those preppy ass snobs and all those bullies who screwed with those kids.

If you ever mistreated someone and got a beat down for it, blame yourself, you deserved it.

you think that the kids deserved to DIE?

i can understand if you hit someone, they can hit you back. but teasing someone, or hitting them for that matter is not equal to a bullet in the head in return. preppy ass snobby kids or not, that doesn't make it warranted. also there's really no point in blaming the people who get shot when the shooters are mentally ill. that makes no sense at all. did you even read the article michael linked though? because it was basically about how this whole thing has been painted different than it really was, and this whole notion that they were bullied into it is wrong.

but in regards to school shootings in general, respect is irrelevant imo when you have someone shooting random people. respect only matters if they are shooting specific people. i'm sure plenty of people killed in these mass school shootings didn't directly disrespect the shooter themselves.

I should have been more specific. The kids that had nothing to do with those shooters in the first place, should have not been involved. Also I don't think killing someone for being teased is by any means rational. But strongly believe in defending yourself if you're being mistreated, verbally and even physically if needed.

yeah i feel the same way. definitely not to the extent of killing someone if they aren't about to kill me though.
