So, I'm making an artist profile for my friend's band. It is a div. And I want a background that basically decorates the sides of the centered DIV. Right I simply have 2 side banners. But as the size of the webpage will change, those will no longer work.
I want something like the underOATH profile (myspace.com/underoath} where they have transparent tables, but have a background that has 2 sides and a black middle. I'm just wondering how to do this on a DIV and where the look can vary in computer resolution.

another example: myspace.com/acityundone

there's really nothing special about what those two bands are doing. it's simply a background with two strips of design on either edge, set to fixed position and transparent tables:
CODE
body { background:url(URL TO IMAGE) top center fixed; }
table, td { background:none; }

take a look at their backgrounds to see what i mean.
