Please make this thread helpful for the mods.
Mods are members, also. So member bashing is not allowed, as always. Don't make it a personal vendetta, please. Keep the bashing at 0%, please. Any moderator has the right to close and unpin this thread at the signs of bashing, pointlessness, and/or any other guideline breaker. I do hope this works out. I want to stress that this is not the place for personal attacks. If you really have to, keep it in the PM system between you and the mod. This thread is here to help mods work better with members. Please do not make this thread into a full scale discussion. Its main purpose is for members to evaluate moderator performance. If your question/concern has been answer, cease to post here until you have another concern. Thank you. So...your thoughts? uhhhhhhh, wut? I think cb got rid of that rule 5 1/2 years ago... so I'm not familiar with it. Well at least you know the rule that staff members are hired becuase they are members who post in the community and are special enough to be on staff. So, they have to be active posters to get on staff, but once they're on staff they can just leave whenever they want and call "personal leave"? and lol James Cotton yeah, that's the douchebag i was referring to earlier. |

So, they have to be active posters to get on staff, but once they're on staff they can just leave whenever they want and call "personal leave"? No, they do not have to be active posters to get on staff. There are plenty of members who are active (posted a lot) who weren't on staff, in the past. I'm only referring to the past because you're bringing up old shit that isn't even important anymore. Staff members are chosen because of their contributions, regardless of how much they post. Consider this: Someone posts 100 useful posts versus someone posting 500 posts that don't really contribute much. Who is more worthy of being on staff? Yes they can leave whenever they want as long as it's personal leave, however it does make sense that people should not be constantly disappearing for long periods of time. I also went through this and I eventually stepped down. This was only a problem because I was ADMINISTRATOR and the fact that I was gone during a very crucial time (transition of cB to cb2 or cB3 or something, I forget) and a bunch of other stuff (by-laws, cB revolution, etc.). I did long in once every now and then (lol probably once a week or something and posted quite a bit when I could). ![]() blah blah blah I'll post more later if I feel like it, but anyways the point I'm making is (sorry for being redundant) that at this time, it shouldn't really matter in terms of activity. Activity hasn't been a big problem because there isn't a bunch of spam or issues that need to be dealt with forum-wise, so what's the point in posting all the time? Shit, cB staff members aren't even getting paid for their time. |

isn't this supposed to be a moderator performance thread, not a "diss the person who has negative thoughts on moderator performance" thread? sure, thomas could handle your reactions a little differently, but for goodness sake, give the guy a break.
No, they do not have to be active posters to get on staff. There are plenty of members who are active (posted a lot) who weren't on staff, in the past. [...] Yes they can leave whenever they want as long as it's personal leave... i'm pretty sure he means you need to be an active poster to be on staff, but you don't need to be on staff to be an active poster. also, what other type of leave besides personal is there? someone can't leave if they die? i'm not on a quest to get on anyone's bad side here, but you people need to chill out. |
