Man, I'm so excited for this movie! I liked Angels & Demons a lot more than I did The Da Vinci Code, so I'm really hoping the movie doesn't blow (I was very disappointed with the movie for The Da Vinci Code). From the looks of the trailers, TV spot, film clip, and sneak peek (here), it looks pretty f*cking awesome... so YAY!! I love the cast too! I mean, Ewan McGregor and Stellan Skarsgård?

The Da Vinci Code, film version, was TERRIBLE, even though I liked the novel more than Angels and Demons. I was soo disappointed. Hopefully this one will be a lot better.
Angels and Demons (novel) does a terrific job of really pulling you in and getting you obsessed with the story until the plot finally climaxes and everything ends sort of abruptly (which is my main gripe with the novel). And a few days after finishing the novel, you sort of wake up from the obsessive dreamworld of Angels and Demons and you think to yourself...shit. That was a whole lot of made-up, convoluted, barely permissible bullshit. Like, I'm all for controversial, entertaining plotlines but this one was just so crazy that it didn't really hit you until a few days later. Nevertheless, it's bound to make for an awesome film so I'm definitely gonna watch it. And it appears that Tom Hanks has better hair in this film. EDIT// I just realized that Angels and Demons is the prequel to The Da Vinci Code, novel-wise, and for the films it's the sequel to it. Talk about messed up. |
