Do you all think that Germany should have been blamed for the FIRST (1) World War? Why?

Reason for edit: Edited title - no need for an ambiguous, mysterious title

No. Gravrilo Princep should be blamed. Research him a bit and you'll find out why.

He was pretty manipulative in seeking vengeance, but I wouldn't blame him entirely. I wouldn't entirely blame one person, but I brought him up for a couple of reasons.- It's no secret that he wanted Germany to be viewed as a powerful country, but I think it's tough to say whether or not he wanted to achieve this with or without conflict. I'd like to say that he wanted to make Germany a world power without conflict, but then I'd have no way to explain why he worked to increase and mobilize the German military. For the record, I would not want to actually be able to say that. - He urged Austria-Hungary to attack Serbia as a way of revenge for the assassination of the archduke, which resulted in Britain, France, and Russia joining the war. - He simply did not know how to control the military that he built up. I suppose one could argue that this helped the allied countries. - He left Germany in a desperate state which lead to the rise of Hitler (who Wilhelm actively supported, even though Hitler was angry at him for "failing" Germany) and we all know what happened when Hitler didn't get into art school... |
