Weird topic title, heh.
Are there things that you always buy at the grocery store that aren't "normal" staples (e.g. flour, salt, eggs, etc.)? I don't buy anything that's too weird, but whenever I go to the grocery store I always buy some fresh basil and almonds.

Aside from cooking essentials (ie, flour, sugar, etc) I try to make sure that there is turkey bacon, carton of egg whites, Tapatio or Chalula sauce, a combination of fat free half-n-half AND flavored fat free creamer (typically vanilla caramel), balsamic vinegar, white vinegar (for cleaning out the coffee pot), turbinado sugar, sourdough bread, frozen french fries and hot dogs in the house. I go shopping on a weekly basis though, so if something is missing, not a big deal to pick it up next run. |

It keeps things low fat while being plenty tasty. |
