when someone says graphic card, are they referring to the RAM?? |

Visual performance. If you want all that fancy eyecandy (like vista/windows 7 gadgets and 3D cubed desktop etc..) you'd need a bit of RAM (memory) and a pretty good Video/Graphics card. And I strongly agree that you should get yourself a GeForce card.
