I'm looking......... Options

*Sorry if this is in the wrong forum!*

I'm looking to buy photoshop CS2 or CS3. I know it costs a LOT but I'm willing to spend the money. I have looked at several places but I don't thnk that it's cheap enough for me. If there are any Photoshop elements that cost less than $70 online please give me links. I need some help. THANKS! :-)

I think it depends on how serious you are about design. If you're more advanced in your designing or you plan on taking courses (or even pursuing a degree) it's a good investment. Judging by your profile you're quite young, so if you plan on taking classes when you're in college wait to buy it so that you can buy something more current when the time comes. On the other hand if you're not very advanced, free programs are the way to go. You'd be surprised at what you can do in GIMP and there are a lot of tutorials for it. If you can't blend in GIMP, then you'll probably have trouble blending in other programs.

cs2 will be around $300, cs3 around $500-$600. or, you can always search sites for OEM software; OEM is usually much cheaper because it doesn't come with the box (honestly, the box hikes the price up about 40%).

Wow! Now that's stupid, but hay, that's how the companies work.

I'm actually EXTREMLY good at using photoshop but not as good with the free programs.

But not within the next year or so... so if you really want to use Photoshop just find a place online and download it or keep using GIMP (read up on some tutorials). If you buy Photoshop right now by the time you get to college there will probably be a new version, so just wait until then, and use a student discount.
