trendsetting, wearing it before it was cool Options

have you ever worn something years before it got popular, got teased about it, and years later everyone started doing the same thing?

Right after christmas I bought a red, black, green and yellow tam hat, adn got CRUCIFIED when I wore it to school. I got totally chewed out about wearing a "rastafarian" hat, but two weeks later about six people were wearing the same type of hat. I hate it when that happens.

I'm sorry. It's just that your profile indicates that you're 16 years old. Those old rasta looking hats are as old or older than I am (and I'm 33 years old).

A simple note about trendsetting - it's very rare for someone of common stature to truly set a "trend." Someone before you has done it, someone before you has been mocked for it and sometime in the future, someone will be considered "cool" for wearing it.

It sucks, but that's just the way it is.

Thanks for looking at my profile . I'm not really a big beatles fan, I just dabble, and heard some of their songs I thought were pretty awesome. But of what I have heard (Only about 5 songs) I like the phase in their career when they song the old early 60s style way, teh "Beatlemania" days.
