I feel like I've got a decent understanding of HTML, CSS, and all that jazz, so I want to move on. My boyfriend complains non stop about Java, so what the hell, I have to give it a shot.
What's the best way to start? Get a book about it? |

Well, what do you want to do with it? Assuming you do in fact mean Java and not JavaScript (I don't mean to insult your intelligence, but people often confuse the two, even though they share no more than superficial similarities), do you want to use it to write web applications? Other programs?
If you're primarily interested in web stuff, there're better languages out there, like Ruby or Python. Your boyfriend's right: Java isn't so great. |
