I watched the first episode. It was terribly slow for the first 15 minutes and nearly gave up on it. However, being such the loyal Whedon fangirl that I am, I stuck with it and I'm glad that I did. It picked up mid-way through and the show looks promising. I wish that Eliza Dushku had meatier acting chops, but then again, I had wished the same with Sarah Michelle Gellar and I watched Buffy until the very end. Anyone else catch the show? It's not bad for a Friday evening program. (Also, I did try searching and couldn't find a topic for this, if you find one, merge away. I won't be offended) |

i finally got around to watching it today (monday), because my weekends are sacred. i really hate fox for putting dollhouse on the executioner's block (a.k.a. a friday night time-slot). it was alright, and shows a lot of promise... of course, i wouldn't be saying nearly the same thing if it weren't for the fact that it's joss whedon's show. i expect it to get much much better (much like angel or buffy). the only thing that is severely lacking for a whedon pilot is this: no humor. the first episode was fifty minutes of almost perfect seriousness, it was so disconcerting. joss says the humor is on the way though, and not to worry. we'll see.
anyways, fox better not cancel this like they did firefly. i would be really pissed. |
