yo man i don't think you have a very good concept of how the internet service is provided to you
realistically if you want to improve your actual download/upload speed aka FASTER INTERNET you need to pay for it. This is the only way and no crazy 'teenage fake makeup' technique will change that your router is actually a combined modem with routing features for a dsl line. so there's one problem: you have dsl. dsl is slower compared to cable. if your family has the starter plan which is like 1mb download/384kb upload then that's as fast at its going to go wireless is cool. it's just that wireless is crap when you're 35 feet away from the router with like walls and things like that. make a windsurfer (it's DIY and you need like aluminum foil or something) finally if you use crap like bittorrent make sure you know how to configure it. newfags can't configure bittorrent |
