So this first theme was Interview: we wanted to see what kind of outfit you would put together to make a first impression. The outfit was to be creative and professional at the same time. So let's see how you did:
Thomas (divergent) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/inter-view/set?id=6147660 Just thought of a classic white gold scenario, to punch up an interview, throw in some fancy accessories. Arjuna (ArjunaCapulong) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=6312756 Aight so I just had a dress and neutral black shoes so my girl could be all like stylish without being too complex, and then she got a watch so she could be all like yo I'm punctual so you should hire me 'cause I'll be on time and what not, and then she got glasses so she look SMART and SOPHISTOCATED. And a ballin' bag so you know she got class and also somewhere to put her paycheck in. HOLLLAAAAA. Maxine (Comptine) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=6172034 I chose a blue dress and a gray toned jacket because those two colors are highly successful for job interviews. Blue signifies authority and trust while gray is reliability and sophistication. I kept the outfit simple to keep the interviewee clean-cut and well dressed but not let it overpower the person herself. Maxine submitted her outfit first. LOLJUNA. -- Carrie Sonja (stormbringer) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/first_impressions/set?id=6230497 I wanted a grey shirt and pant, accented by a pale pink bag and scarf. This oufit projects the wearers sense of fasion, but also a competence which is always important in interviews. I also wanted something that was elegant but fasionable. Makeup and hair would have to be simple, not too flashy or elaborate. The word to describe this outfit would be "elegant." Lea (angelrevelation) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=6193748 I think that professional looks can still look easy and young, with a touch of the classics. I'm still young, so I chose the bow earrings which would reflect how I'm not trying to act older. The ring and shoes are "subtle" statement pieces, and the belt is just to give the dress a nicer shape. I chose a slightly tougher bag in a neutral color to balance the femininity. Alex (coconutter) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/strictly_business/set?id=6140684 My outfit was mostly inspired by the shoes, and I definitely worked around the shoes. I love Christian Louboutin shoes so I had to include them. The blackberry was just a business-like addition to add with the accessories. carolannexbh (Carolanne) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=6185468 I put together a simple black pencil skirt and white blouse and added red accessories with red pumps to the outfit to make it less simple. I also added a coach bag to make the outfit more professional looking. Mel (towntown2) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=6193691 The girl I envisioned styling is a no fuss lady with a straightforward attitude. I paired a classic LBD with other classic pieces like the tan trench and the black pumps. The twist comes with the red heels and the leather bowling bag. A pair of CZ studs ties it all together. Elizabete (temptedeli) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=6269695 Jenny (Jennypie) ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/put-together_under.../set?id=6274081 I have always felt that while the interviewee should appear self-assured and well-dressed, there should be an understated type of appeal about them which shows with certainty that they can perform as well as they look. I think this outfit does that. The blouse and skirt catch the eye and exude confidence, but the rest of the pieces are simple and classic. They are not flashy, but by no means are they boring. The Chloe blazer is well-tailored, paired with a subtle pair of dark plum suede pumps and a structured Balenciaga tote. The jewelry I kept simple: gold studs, and a Tag Heuer watch, pulling together an outfit that is both professional and practical, while being extremely presentable. And a last minute entry from Victoria (Tori-Ann)! ![]() http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=6317557 Thanks to all who submitted! Now the judges will deliberate and we will come up with who'll be cut shortly. In the meantime, talk amongst yourselves =D Like how weird is it that Juna and Maxine chose the same dress? |

QUOTE she got a watch so she could be all like yo I'm punctual so you should hire me 'cause I'll be on time and what not LOLOLOL Thomas - I don't hate it, I just wonder if the textures would fight with each other. I mean, you have the satin-y pleated skirt, patent leather knotted bag, patent leather shoes, statement-making jacket...together it looks a tad busy. Arjuna - I liked that he kept it pretty simple. While that's a good thing, he could have used some more accessories + a jacket of some sort. Plus those shoes are sort of fug. Practical, but more fug than I'd like. Maxine - lol@having the same dress XD Shoes are hawt. Not as fug as Juna's fo sho. Would have liked to seen a little more pop of colour as the palette is a bit monochromatic right now. Sonja - Grey. The first word that came into my head. I don't think the pale pink accessories do much to set off the overwhelming grey-ness of the whole thing. Lea - I like this, but for an interview? Maybe not. It's a little unprofessional looking. - lol@case of cash. I appreciate the black socks. Alex - Whoa that top is FUG. Would have preferred to have seen a different one, but overall is not bad. Carolanne - Black + white + red accessories. It's all very cliche. Mel - Shoes - hawt. Unprofessional? A little. If you take away the bag and the trench coat she could be going out to a cocktail party, I don't know how I feel about that. Elizabete - Too matchy. Jenny - Fabulous. There's a good balance of artistic fashion + professionalism. You made a dress with a bright yellow top wearable for the office. Final note: I know you guys took some liberties in styling for this round, but I really don't know what kind of interview y'all are going to. ![]() |
