Nate, sometimes, even though you've been posting for a whie now, your pretentiousness still amazes me. Please, stop acting you're better than everyone else and that obviously, you are so anti-mainstream pop culture it pains you to know people have different tastes in movies than you.
I personally found this film beautiful; the cinematography was beautiful and I loved the cast. I thought they were all perfect and I loved that the kids they picked were actually believable when compared to the "adult" ones. I don't get why you, OR the critic, have so much hate for this movie? |

"pretentiousness" is an anti-intellectual buzzword. you're a jerk for using it. it's not like i'm demanding some sort of undeserved importance or status, i'm making valid observations & displaying my frustration that no one else seems to see what is so obvious to so many other people. there is nothing "pretentious" about my opinion or my presentation of it, not really. it's a dissenting view, in the same sense, & from my position, maybe i should say you're being "pretentious." but, no, that would be granting your POPULACE ANALYSIS FAR TOO MUCH CREDIT. p.s. it's not an act. i don't have to act. of course i hold myself in greater esteem than most of my peers. shit, it only makes sense. don't you? obviously. I personally found this film beautiful; the cinematography was beautiful and I loved the cast. I thought they were all perfect and I loved that the kids they picked were actually believable when compared to the "adult" ones. I don't get why you, OR the critic, have so much hate for this movie? wow, you're just like every other fourteen year old that saw this garbage. instead of throwing around a bunch of buzzwords & turning egotism into a bad word, how about you actually ADDRESS THE CRITICISMS OF THE FILM! you know, actually engage in some sort of discourse rather than jerking yourself off: QUOTE don't you think the movie is reduced to a fairy-tale'd disney crock when it is completely engulfed by a love story? don't you think the movie looks like a jeans commercial? don't you think the entire thing is designed to be as easily digestible as possible? don't you think, when the film is pushed to its limits, it is not only nonsensical, but contrary? i mean, it's a movie about poverty... and the success of the protagonist is characterized in the winning of money? didn't his brother die in a bathtub full of money? uhmmm? or is actually thinking about the movie you watched too hard for you? |
