So i straighten my hair a lot and its also kinda thin and i notice that it seems to get a bunch of split ends pretty quickly even after i get a trim. So is there a good hair shampoo or some kind of heat protector that i can use to decrease the amount of splits?

heat is pretty damaging to hair. if possible, try to straighten less. a good diet always helps. i heard aloe was good for hair, along with other things. don't ever straighten when your hair is wet.

I'm currently using an olive oil-aloe shampoo (don't worry, it doesn't smell like either one of those) and I like it so far. I have a really bad problem with dandruff and I've already started to see good results. Olive oil is a fantastic moisturizer/conditioner (I'd recommend using that as an oil treatment, too) and aloe is supposed to soothe irritation, itching, etc. I've also used a tea tree oil shampoo but I think it cleaned my hair a little too well and I didn't like how it felt after. Vitamin E is another thing that's supposed to be good. I used to squeeze the vitamin E gel caps and use that to directly moisturize my hair.

I also tend to stay away from blow drying my hair (which is easy since my hair is short). It also feels better than blow drying, less stiff.
