This looks more like a wallpaper instead of a banner. Or like a background for a layout. Anyways, I really like what you did to the image(s). But I think you should bring down the second image because the blending looks weird. I like the airplanes too. But what I think isn't working is the font you used for "eight" because it's so thick. And I don't think black was a good font color for this because it sort of gets lost due to the placement. Also I don't think the background really matches this. As far as adding anything, I think it looks fine. If you add more, it'll look too busy, imo.
