i have a new theory.
families fight and fall apart during the holidays because that's when they actually have to spend time together. long story short, i got into a fight with my bitch of a mother and got thrown out. fun stuff. |

I don't spend time with the family that I don't get along with. Christmas is wayyyy more than gifts and dinner. I'd rather be in a room with the people that I love and care for rather than going around to see family that I don't have a good time with.
I think that people are so worried about making sure that they send a card to everyone on their list or stop by everyone's house that they forget to have a good time and enjoy themselves. They let the stress get to them. Regardless of religion or occupation, the holidays are always stressful, which is why it's important to be around people who you have fun with. All in all I think it's the stress talking. I have family members who will call me and complain to me around the holidays, but no other time. This year Christmas was great. Last year my brother brought his bitchy ex-girlfriend, but this year a few family members came over and some of our friends. We ate dinner and joked around, opened some gifts, and played cards (whilst drinking... just a little) for a long time. |
