Does anyone know how to do this in Photoshop? I have CS2.
See how the "2" and the word "cuties" drop shadow is half one color and half another color? I know there is more than just the drop shadow used, like possibly outer gradient and inner gradient. ![]() When I tried to do this, I found a gradient selection in Outer gradient: ![]() But this is all I get: ![]() Please help, Thanks! |

I tried just using the Effects, but I couldn't get the gradient to behave in a horizontal, top-to-bottom fashion. That's why I had to use a stroke, duplicate, and smudge for a homemade drop-shadow effect.
I guarantee you, that is the only way to do it in Photoshop. As Mike said, you just have to smudge the bottom layer more than I did. You have to try it yourself.... Perhaps they are using a different program. I think Paint Shop Pro allows you to do that. |
