I thought about peace corps for a bit. i don't mind much being dirty, improper sleeping, and adapting unusual habits. as i was thinking about it, i thought about all the community services I've done in the past with my clubs from school. however, i discovered this government operated organization to be intriguing simply because it has many opportunities for enrichment, personal growth, and joy as well as experience. i wanted challenges, to feel different, and a blend of cultural clashes. at the same time, i don't know if it's right for me. i just don't trust the government.

do you know anyone who's been involved with peace corps?
what are your thoughts about this program?
would you like to be part of it?

^ With everything you'd be doing, the time would fly. Trust me.

All the people that I've talked to have really enjoyed being in the Peace Corps. My Chemistry teacher was in the Peace Corps and she taught in parts of Africa and Papa New Guinea. She learned a lot about the culture and took an entire day of class to have us cook the typical foods and share the typical dress and traditions of the countries she's been to. She taught around the world for 9 years, and last year was her first time being in an actual classroom. She has a ton of stories.

It's a great way to learn about other cultures and do something productive. Maybe talk to a few people who have been through it...
