if i want the best j dilla album, what should i go with?



i don't feel like i know much/enough about the dude. what's the best way to go about schooling myself on all his work.

Let's start with J Dilla's "Donuts."

Then, after that, make sure you cop "The Shining," which is more of a collection of his produced songs as opposed to it's own LP.

Once you have those two cuts, get your hands on Q-Tip's "Amplified" because the entire album is produced by the late Mr. Yancey.

If you're feeling jazzy, I suggest the collaborative with West Coast producer (and concept rapper) Madlib, entitled 'Jaylib.'
