They must have gotten this brilliance from us and the CTA so this is what will happen in New york:

1.People will say wtf and why?
NYC transit will be all like BUT ITS SUCH A GOOD IDEAAAAA but what do we know we never ride on the subway.
2.This idea will backfire causing the number of people to use the subway go to go wayyyy wayyy down.
3.Then the NYCTA will be like LOL WUT and see how they can make money for the loss.You see what these idiots dont realize is it takes more money to remove shit then to just leave it the f*ck alone and be happy and grateful. But NOOOOO instead they will just up the fares by 5-10 percent to the people who still are using the subway and the buses and whatever to make up for the losses that the no chair stunt.

i disagree. i ride the subway a lot and during rush hour, it's pretty much body-to-body-squished and ppl pressed up against people, etc. with the exception of people with children and elderly or disabled folks, it wont really make much of a difference. and since they're not completely removing the seats, just making it foldable,... i really don't think it's such a big deal, especially since it's only in a few of the cars, not all of them.

Agreed. There's a bit of a problem though. The few seats that are open will be hounded by everyone in the subway car. The elderly and disabled will not get them because they are weaker, and people on the subway are inherently evil (especially fat middle-aged women that steal the seats just as you make your way towards them).

The amount of people that ride the subway will not decrease at all because of the seat deal. People will be grumpy and frustrated, but the subway is the best way to get around, and that's really the end of the story.
