I've gotten to the point where I am afraid to get to know new people or make friends. In the past I've had friends that have stolen from me and used me.

Only a few days ago, my bf and I let a very close friend move in with us for a month until he went back to school on jan. 9. After 1 night of him staying here he got a bad call from his girlfriend and was in the midst of being torn between what to do with her and his newly born daughter. The guy that we let move in started beating my boyfriend up while he was sleeping in our room. He broke two of his fingers and he had to get stitches in his eyebrow. He has bruises all over his body and his head. My bf has known this guy for FIFTEEN years, and I have known him for 2 1/2 and we never thought that he would do something like this. I was there when it happened, but I was in another room . . . after looking at my bf's hand I could tell that his fingers got slammed in the door because I heard a lot of doors slamming. The doctor says that they have to rip his fingernails off, too. If I hadnt of been there to pull him off of my boyfriend he would have killed him . . . and he was making death threats against him.
Despite all of my boyfriend's injuries, my glass table was broken, my carpet couch and bed have blood stains on them, and numerous other things were destroyed . . .

You rarely hear about something terrible like this happening unless it is some body that the victoms have known personally . . I feel like its not worth it to get involved with any body anymore, you never know what they are capable of, is it even worth it?

You need to call the police, get a restraining order, and sue for your damanged property. It sounds like your "friend" is dangerous.
