Today is a weird day at school.
I did an unintentional experiment about self-image. Today i looked decent because i had a new haircut and slimmer jean while i was wearing my typical converse shoe and sleeve. Before that, i was wearing bad jeans and had an nasty Asian afro hair. i looked hideous. with this fresh, new, and clean look, people are noticing me more. my tshirt design was selected to represent this 2008-2009 club tshirt. when i was performing a piano recital in front of everyone, i heard more claps than ever. People actually start talking to me in my classes, joking around, and giving me attentions. My teacher passed by me to say,"hi". All of this happened today.  THIS.IS.SUCH.A.WEIRD.SUPERFICIAL.DAY.EVER. what a world we live in ... Do you ever had a day when you receive more attractions and attentions just because you looked different or better? |

^ Go for the happy medium, like, just keep the door open but don't open it FOR her. I think that's just common courtesy though, I would do it for anybody. If you do open it for her, then a girl who doesn't like it will obviously be insulted, but a girl who doesn't mind it (someone like me) will still feel a little bit weird. It's always a bit awkward, maybe that's why girls don't like it. But I just say thank you and go in. I mean, get a grip, he's just opening the door, not making a move on you.
 Generally I go for the "whoever gets to the door first" rule. If I happen to get to the door first, I'll open the door for myself and keep the door open for the guy. If the guy gets there first and he's not a jackass then he'll go in first and keep the door open, or he might just let me go before him. I don't mind either way. I would never get to the door first, wait for the guy to catch up, and EXPECT for him to open the door. |
