'k, so my brother here is being a total jerk and playing music (albeit quietly) behind me. I have an exam next week. Thing is, I simply cannot concentrate with ANY AMOUNT OF ANY MUSIC in the background, so it's really pissing me off. I don't want to tell him to shut up because it would only create problems in the near future with him thinking I have bad attitude, but he was the one who flew into a rage last night when I asked him a simple question while he was studying, but that's besides the point.

So I plugged in some earphones, the noise-canceling kind, and it's not enough. I thought that it would be brilliant if someone could someone produce the sound of nothingness.

I guess white noise is as close as you can get. I don't mind noise so much as long as it's not annoying or distracting. And I found this:

It's cool, you can choose between white noise, pink noise, or brown/red noise. I have no idea what pink or brown/red noise is, but they're all nice. Really is helping me concentrate right now, blocking out my brother listening to Usher and instead I'm listening to pure nothingness.

try it if you're having trouble.
