I had to read this over the summer for my AP class and I loved it. It was witty and nicely written. Anyone else like it? I think I'm going to read his other plays when I get the chance.

Jack lives in the country where he takes care of his ward Cecily. He pretends to have a brother named Earnest so he can disapear into the city whenever he pleases and not have to worry about any consequences. His friend Algernon (who knows him as Earnest) finds out about Jack's double life and reveals that he also does the same thing. Algernon pretends to have a sick friend named Bunbury and uses him as an excuse to skip family events and dinners. That's a basic overview of the begining of the play (without really ruining anything)
