butterfudge nuts!, I hate him! Options

My ex boyfriend and I went out for almost a year on and off. We were in love and we planning to be married. I asked for a small break because I needed more time to spend on my school studies and I wouldn't have much time at all to spend with him considering I work as well as go to school. Well, about a month later, I find out he's talking to this girl named Krista, who's also my friend. Well, we had also been talking about getting back together and he said he truly believed I was the one for him and he still wanted to marry me. So when I found out that he was thinking about dating Krista, I told him that I was done with him for good and that I never wanted to talk to him ever again, and for him to never speak, text, or think of me again! That this was it! Well, that has been about a month or so ago, and just last night he texted me.. Any ideas why?

I agree ^ with the breaks. If one person is busy with school work.. then they should go ahead and focus on it. No need to break up.. a couple doesn't have to hang out every single day. taking a break is a sign of weakness in the relationship most of the time.

Almost a year? On and off?
So you two basically went out for less than 12 months and it was on and off and within that period, you two decided to get married. Did he propose? (ok that doesn't matter)
But what made you guys go on and off anyways? I think you two fell for each other too hard (which is fine if that's how you two felt) but i think you two should've given it a lot more time before deciding on getting married.
