Okay. Let's use fake names.

Boyfriend: Sam.
Best friend: Casey.
Close friend: Mel.
Boy: Jake.

Sam and I broke up over the summer. I developed minuscule feelings for a friend, Jake, but it was really more the fact that he could make me laugh and forget I was sad, than anything.

I told Jake so, and he told me he didn't feel anything except friendship for me, which I was hoping for (I only told him because it was bothering me).

Jake and I don't hang out often or talk all that much, but he and Mel do. They like each other, but they aren't going out.

I got over these tiny feelings for Jake. I crushed them, ate them, digested them and they exited like all garbage is thrown out of your body.

Jake knows that Sam and I are back together. Though as of late, we've been talking more and more, but that's all him. I basically ignore him on my instant messenger list, since we haven't really got anything to talk about, anymore.

We had a get together at Mel's house, me, him, Casey and a couple of other friends.

Jake was playing the guitar, but he kept looking up at me, to check if I was watching him. I'd notice that if I glanced over at Casey or Mel, who were sitting near him.

When we were sitting around, Jake would always be tickling me more than he would be Casey. o_o

And when we walked outside for a bit, he basically threw me into the snow and and did nothing about his friend carry Mel, the girl he supposedly has great feelings for, down the street.

When I left, he asked me "Hey, where's my hug?" and demanded one.

Am I being conceited/paranoid for noting all these things?

This guy is hard for me to read, and I don't want to be accidentally doing things to make any situation worse, because I like him as a friend, and no more than that.

Sigh.
