I stopped watching award shows in 10th grade, which was back in 2003. I've realized that every year, the shows get worse and worse. I noticed the ever going trend of the media portraying an aesthetic view of a show, over a quality show. These performers are not even performing anymore at all. They go on stage, sing a couple of their own song lines, and that's it. Most of the time, the song is just played in the background. I just get dissapointed every year from award shows, that I just gave up on it.

All in all though, I totally agree with you. Music award shows are just for people to show off their pretty clothes. The Oscars and Emmys are still pretty good award shows though. And sometimes the Grammys. |
