I didn't know where to post this but this seemed to be just as good a place as any so yeah. My friends Ipod says do not disconnect and has the blinking thing on top and the computer doesn't notice it is connected. I've tried disk mode and it still doesn't work. My computer once noticed "new hardware" when I connected the ipod and told me to restart but nothing changed. Can someone help?

Okay, since it beeps when you plug it in, that means that the iPod is recognized by the computer. When you plug in the iPod, nothing is supposed to happen. No program or anything automatically pops up. You must open everything manually. Since you think you need to restore it, go to your Start Menu, then iPod, then go to the updater software. When you have the updater software open, just click restore to restore it. Personally, I do not think that it needs to be restored. But, I really don't know.
When you plug in the iPod and your computer beeps, open iTunes, and wait a minute or two and iTunes will pop up something to set the settings for sending songs to your iPod. Tell me if this helps or not. |
