So, political discourse has been showing up more and more the closer and closer we get to November. As a result, I've decided that this thread should exist. All political arguments that relate to the elections (and the candidates) should find their home here, more or less.
Who do you think should run America? Why? What direction do you think America is going in, as a country? What direction do you think we should go in? Why? Support your arguments with evidence and details, make citations, try to have fun; no spamming, character bashing, etc. etc. |

This is freakin exhausting, I have like 3 people coming at me. haha
Paperplane, Im regurgitating every Republican talking point? Ive actually broken away from the norm. You unfortunately have not managed to think for yourself or get properly educated on the issues and you just "regurgitate" what the liberal media and liberal society is feeding you. Obviously, its not "popular" to be a republican/conservative by any means. How am I vilinizing any one by calling them a liberal? I classify people's party by the issues they stand by. And you and brooklyneast05 have liberal views. I didnt say it is a dirty word, its just a classification. Actually, illegal immigrants can vote. Its called voter fraud. Which is happening quite a bit right now in a number of states, 13 to be exact. ACORN, a "non-biased" group which is endorsing Barack Obama, which recieves federal funds and money from outside groups (Almost a million from Obama himself) has been allegedly registering people more than once, registering names such as "mickey mouse" and deceased people. A man claims that ACORN paid him to register 72 times. People off the streets are registering in exchange for cigaretes. You think that illegal immigrants are going to be checked for American citizenship while registering w/ groups like these? Hell no. I am very sympathetic to those worse off than me. But Im not sypathetic to those who break our laws. We need to tighten the hell out of our borders. You say its not the "illegals" faults for accepting the jobs that people give them. Well, if they werent there in the first place than they wouldnt be getting jobs then would they? The people handing out those jobs should be held accountable. Im going to say this again, that you have a liberal perspective of "Its not their fault, they didnt KNOW what they were doing, they had to break the laws to have a better life and now we will just have compassion on the criminals and BAIL THEM OUT." Ya, BAIL THEM OUT. Does sound familiar, huh? Its a nice little phrase. No. They are criminals living in our country, taking our jobs, not paying taxes. They need to be held accountable for their actions. Im pretty straight forward about that. And, no Im not naive. FYI, about 50% of small businesses make 250,000 or more a year. Come on, brooklyneast05, get your info from somewhere else than BarackObama.com The candidates websites make it sound so nice. If you want the stright forward talk, without any of Obama's smooth talking, go to another website for your info. Use google, its magical. |

^what have you said that has "broken away" from the republican norm?
QUOTE Actually, illegal immigrants can vote. Its called voter fraud. Which is happening quite a bit right now in a number of states, 13 to be exact. false. you apparently don't know what you're talking about or the difference between voter fraud and voter registration fraud. right now the problem involving acorn is voter REGISTRATION fraud, not voter fraud. those are two completely different things . voter REGISTRATION fraud happens every election, this isn't some brand new phenomenon. voter REGISTRATION fraud doesn't equal voter fraud and based on past elections there isn't much reason to believe it leads to that. someone sending in a fake application is way different than someone actually showing up to vote. someone sent in a registration form as mickey mouse, they didn't actually go down with their mickey mouse documentation and try to vote claiming they were mickey mouse. you have to be a complete idiot to not see the difference here. voter fraud is rare, voter registration fraud isn't. QUOTE I am very sympathetic to those worse off than me. But Im not sypathetic to those who break our laws. We need to tighten the hell out of our borders. You say its not the "illegals" faults for accepting the jobs that people give them. Well, if they werent there in the first place than they wouldnt be getting jobs then would they? The people handing out those jobs should be held accountable. har har har if they weren't getting handed jobs in the first place they wouldn't be there to get them, obviously. QUOTE FYI, about 50% of small businesses make 250,000 or more a year. where's the cite to this QUOTE Come on, brooklyneast05, get your info from somewhere else than BarackObama.com The candidates websites make it sound so nice. If you want the stright forward talk, without any of Obama's smooth talking, go to another website for your info. Use google, its magical. why? if i wanted to point out what obama's stance was, why wouldn't i go to the candidates website? if i wanted to point out what mccains was i'd go to his. no i'm not going to just google up some random website for that. if you think the candidates websites aren't accurate and haven't been picked over a million times by the other party then you're dumb. where do you go for your "straight forward talk". |
