How many of you have/use adobe illustrator ?
people are always talking about photoshop here, but i rarely see anyone talking about illustrator. |

That's probably why I've never gotten the hang of InDesign or Illustrator. Which is problem - most people who do "graphic design" on the internet nowadays only know of Photoshop. Photoshop is an image-editing software, and should be seen only as such. In reality, InDesign and Illustrator are programs that benefit from the use of Photoshop, but are the core programs needed to actually design something that is functional and effective. That is actual "design", structure and layout, not Photoshop, which could be said to handle the art aspect of everything.
The whole layout of InDesign and Illustrator are sooo foreign to me, even after a whole year of making yearbook layouts. |
