I'm not a businessman, I'm a business, man. Let me handle my business, damn. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Everyone knows who Jay-Z is at this point. Pop culture has made him an icon and his business exploits has him chasing Oprah in terms of money, but has anyone ever really given Jay-Z a good listen? Sure, many of you suburban types may have learned more about him through his work with Linkin Park, but as good as that album was, it was very, very mediocre. I've included a few tracks and music vids for everyone to check out, highlighting some of Hova's legacy in the game. I'm double posting just to BUMP this thread.
Jay-Z couldn't seem to keep Def Jam on a roll, and he is Roc-A-Fella records. So much for an artist lineup, eh? He's now made another business move... QUOTE It's hard to believe Jay-Z can do anything without creating a huge buzz, but the hip-hop mogul has reportedly teamed up with Norwegian production duo Stargate and quietly launched the new record label, StarRoc. -yahoo.comThe rapper, who's spent the bulk of his career as an artist -- and, eventually president of Def Jam Records -- abandoned his contract with the label back in December 2007 and snagged a $150 million deal with Live Nation that included financing for his imprint. Jay's new venture will develop fresh talent and, reportedly, include a music-publishing unit. In other Jigga news, the rap superstar is scheduled to release his 11th studio album, 'The Blueprint 3,' in December. The Blueprint 3? I wasn't a big fan of The Blueprint 2. As long as it's better than Kingdom Come and Best of Both Worlds, I'll cop it. |
