I was typing up a mini essay for school last night and the topic was learning style - what best suits you.
I remember back in grade school (AGES ago) our class participated in a program designed to determine one's learning style. It was determined that I was a kinesthetic learner. I've found that as I've grown older, I'm definitely a learn by doing type. My brother is an elementary school teacher and his wife works with special needs kids (she has her masters in psychology). I got into a conversation with them about this and they had a slightly different take (from myself and from eachother). My sister-in-law thinks that there is validity to these types of determinations but that most people are a combination. My brother puts less stock in these ideas and feels that depending on the subject matter, a student will employ varying "learning styles." http://www.chaminade.org/INSPIRE/learnstl.htm Small chart to sort of demonstrate different attributes between learning styles. Which do you think you are? |

I swear I was gonna make a topic just like this one! Yeah, my Latin teacher was out for a few days and a lady who specialized in this type of stuff decided to analyze us.
I'm a visual learner, who works in dim lighting and silence, needs to be chewing gum, and sitting in an upright chair. ![]() |
