What is the "best" gift you've ever received from a family member, friend, significant other, or complete stranger?
Interpret "best" as you will, whether it be the gift with the most sentimental value, the largest monetary value, the most practicality, or the "best" whichever else way you prefer. |

On the morning of my 16th birthday, I woke up and saw this piece of paper taped to the end of my bed telling me to go down the ladder(since i sleep on the top bunk). And as I climbed down i saw a bunch of little pieces of paper with arrows on them taped around the house directing me where to go. They said things like "go to the bathroom, wash your hands >:O, go through the kitchen, around the corner, etc...". And it leads me to the living room at my desk and I find a colorful card made by my little sister and it said "#1 sister, happy birthday! I couldn't do that phone thing again(since the year before she left me a voicemail on my phone singing happy birthday), but at least I made you a card. Hope you have the bestest best birthday. --Priscilla" Apparently she put together that whole surprise right before she left for school in the morning. I was feeling so shitty that whole week and the moment i saw that I was so happy that I cried. I think that's the only time i've ever cried tears of joy.

That's unbelievably cute and nice of your sister! I wish I had a sister (or brother) that would do something like that for me! xD I did a similar thing for my boyfriend, and he absolutely loved it. :D The best gift... Hm. Well, I'll go with what popped into my head while I read this. About 4 years ago, my boyfriend at that time would give me a rose for each month we were together on our "month-saries". The first rose surprised me SO much! Attached to the stems were little notes/sayings/lyrics, etc. He did that every single month we were together. At the end of the relationship, I was walking to my door the day after I had broken up with him, and on the doorstep were 27 roses from him. The gift itself was simple, it wasn't too extravagant, but it was absolutely perfect in my eyes. |
