the gift of compassion.

i was having the shittiest week ever. a lot of bad, major events happened during that time & i just broke down. my guy friend listened to me ramble about my problems when he didn't have to. he was really comforting and gave me good advice too. at the end, he said "okay. will you do something for me right now? just SMILE!" - it made me smile :] then he hugged me, like those really genuine hugs. and he told me that i could call him up anytime if i needed another ramble haha. it was just really uplifting to know that somebody cared about me. there's no better gift than having somebody be there for you when you need it the most. truly, the smallest gesture makes the biggest difference!
