width in IE. Options

first problem: the table width won't change in IE. the left tables changed as they were supposed to, but the content in the right tables doesn't resize. what do i have to do to get that to change?

second, there's a nice bit of padding around the blog header. how can i remove it?

the padding you're unfortunately going to have to live with. =)

microsoft says no-no to declaring table padding with css, and IE 7 and earlier (i'm not sure if IE 8 supports it) don't have a clue what border-collapse is. the only way to get rid of it is to use cellpadding="0" in the actual HTML.
