Okay so I've been raised in the world of PC with slight affair with Mac, and in my graphics class we're totally on the Mac. So we're desigin' logos for each other, and I came up with this totally neat idea on paper but I cannot translate it on the PS CS3 w/ a Mac, but could most likely do it just fine or close on my PC using Pain Shop.

My idea is a "crescent" of the sun, with triangular rays, but I can't find how you turn the square/ rectangle into anything else. I've looked through the tutorials, but I'm not finding what I'm looking for. If anyone could be of assistance I'd appreciate.

^ You have to "Stroke" the shape. After you create the shape, look for the shape layer on the Layers toolbar. On the bottom of the toolbar you should see something that looks like "fx". Click it, and choose Stroke. Then you can choose your border colour, thickness, etc. Rasterize and erase away!
