I have run across a few spam posts or rude posts while looking through the forums. Yesterday I clicked the "report" button to notify staff that there was a dumb chain letter post. 3 mods responded and told me that the issue happened a long time ago and has been taken care of.
If it has been taken care of a long time ago, then why is the lame post still there? Why don't mods just delete it? It makes the forums look trashy when there are old spam posts laying around. Here's a perfect example: http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...t&p=3020516 I don't know why a mod hasn't deleted this already. Not only is it spam, it is also very rude. I am not blaming the mods or pointing fingers or anything. You guys do a good job at stopping the people who are spamming, but I just don't get why you leave all the evidence after the person has been banned. Does anyone agree with me?... |

Well, there is a difference between posting something that is rude and posting something that is bashing. Sometimes members aren't always treated equally, and staff tries to make sure that doesn't happen. i.e. There are somethings that, in the past, have slipped because it was "expected behaviour" of a member.
Usually, the posts or topics are left there for people, including mods, to refer to. When a post or topic is deleted, it isn't gone forever, but it is easier for people to just leave it and reference it rather than shift through the trash and try to find it. Also, if there is a spam topic and other members have posted in it or read it they would probably get mad if the topic suddenly disappeared. Porn and ads are ALWAYS removed, even if someone else has posted in the topic. Those are the things that make the forums look tashy. Rude posts just make that member look trashy. |
