I placed this mask over my face
Obscuring my eyes, my lies
And hiding my darkest secrets
Never trusting anyone with my heart

It hurt so bad to see everyone fade
My friends, my family
They all left me behind, alone
No one tried to understand me

I grew so tired of fake smiles and laughs
Surrounding me, suffocating me
I couldn't take it any more
Everyone turned their back

I tried to be whole and happy
Talking, listening
But nothing made sense to me
Like words in an unknown language

Then I met you, my life changed
I finally was real, together
You lit up my life and took away the dark
You showed me it was possible

I trusted you and I still do
With all my hopes, all my dreams
And you were there to help me through
It was then I fell for you

I read it through after I wrote it and I was like "WTF?" cause it's kinda sappy for me XD
It's basically about when I met my boyfriend online. Before that, I was a jaded little a-hole who hated his life. When I met him, he completely changed my view on life - he gave me something worth living for. Even just talking to him brightens my day - he's like the sunshine in my life. I don't know what the hell I'd do without him - probably go psycho crazy and kill people xD
