A Jr. High School is making headlines about giving birth control to it's students (article is here)What is your stance on providing Jr. High students with condoms and birth control? Should it only be the parents responsibility?

Well, if teen girls get pregnent and have kids, it's their responsibility. They should suffer for:
a.) Being stupid (aka not having protection). b.) Being a whore (having so much sex that a condom broke/etc.) It's just a pity that the child will have to suffer too. |

You do realize that someone in a committed relationship using condoms could have one broken, and having repeated sex in a relationship is by no means "whorish". The reason most teens suffer is because they weren't taught the things young adults need to be taught about. They need to be told the statistics: such as "less than one out of a hundred women will become pregnant when using birth control perfectly", so then they can decide the proper contraception for them and find a way to get it. Though, birth control should be able to be accessed without parental permission, and it should be at a place where it is easily accessible for young adults without cars/licenses. Girls afraid to tell their parents, or girls whose parents don't let them get birth control are the ones that we need to worry about. Schools also need to step up on their sex-ed programs, saying that abstinence leads to other bad things, and it doesn't. Stop lying to our children! Teach them the necessary things to be taught. I don't think anyone under 30 has any business raising a child. Though, having sex is a big responsibility and needs to be treated as such. Sex isn't "bad", even for teens under 16, what's bad is that they don't understand what the consequences could be for sex. People say "once you have sex you give away your body". Untrue. Stop f**king treating it like it's such a big deal to lose your virginity. It's not. The big deal is, losing your virginity and becoming a mother. |
