Here's a problem with arranged marriages Options

I was talking about this in cBC, but decided to turn it into a topic.

Alright, so I got this friend who found out that she's caught up in an arranged marriage. The guy's decent and all, she had no real problems with him.

However... Knowing that he she was gonna end up with this guy no matter what, she just let herself go and starting eating everything and anything she wanted, and started being lazy and unkempt.

LOL, sucks for the guy.

Anyway, if you knew you were gonna be stuck with one guy/girl, and held down to it, how would you have reacted?

I suppose having been raised the way I was, it seems strange in this day to think about arranged marriages. I don't want to come off as ignorant or unappreciative, but I was brought up with the idea of free choice pretty much hammered into my head so it seems weird to me. Anyway, if I were in this situation (assuming I had no real problems with the guy) I guess I'd just try to live with it. I wouldn't let myself go thinking I've already nabbed a good one, just because I take care of myself for me and not for anyone else. :P

Then again I'm a tough one to keep tied down, so I dunno. xD
